Things to Note:
Science:
Year 8 maintains the successful momentum of Year 7 by continuing our integrated approach to discovery. Students advance their studies in Biology, Chemistry, and Physics side-by-side, ensuring they see the vital links between the three disciplines rather than viewing them as separate subjects.
This holistic method allows students to:
-
Reinforce their understanding of how scientific strands intersect in the real world.
-
Refine their analytical and practical skills in readiness for GCSEs.
Technology:
Students in Years 7 through 9 explore the world of technology through a dynamic rotational curriculum. In seven-week blocks, students rotate between specialist areas, allowing them to build a diverse range of practical skills and theoretical knowledge. This hands-on approach not only fosters creativity but lays a strong foundation for those wishing to progress to a GCSE in these subjects.
Our rotations include:
- Design Technology: Product design and resistant materials.
- Food Technology: Nutrition and culinary skills.
- Engineering: Systems, mechanisms, and problem-solving.
- Textiles: Fabric construction and design.
- New & Emerging Technologies: Robotics, E-Textiles, and 3D Printing.
