Enrichment is integrated into the Parkside curriculum, taking place each week.
E&A
On a Monday afternoon, students participate in a range of different activities that promote the wider curriculum. As with coaching, this is a vital component of the personal development offer, which is designed to prepare students for success in life. Each Key Stage will now receive a bespoke offer, aimed at their specific needs.
In Key Stage 3 students are part of Engage and Aspire, with a strong focus on engagement, enjoyment, communication and experiential learning as part of mixed year group sessions.
Students in Key Stage 4 undertake the Endeavour and Achieve curriculum, with a strong focus on building success and pathways for the future including undertaking leadership activities, focussed deeper curriculum learning and supporting students move onto their next steps post 16. We view this time as vital for developing the right skills and attributes to succeed in life.
There are 4 categories of enrichment activities:
Be Active – a wide range of sporting activities
Be Creative – activities based around art, technology, music and drama
Be Involved – involves students working together on activities that are not based around sport or creativity
Be Prepared – activities that can lead to additional qualifications
