It is with great pleasure that I welcome you to Parkside School.
I am extremely privileged to hold the role of Principal; Parkside School is an exciting place to be and there is much to celebrate and look forward to.
As a part of the Wellspring Academy Trust, at Parkside School, we seek to influence culture, thinking and behaviour through building strong relationships at all levels. We are passionately committed to our goal of making a positive difference to the lives and life chances of all our children and young people. We work to ensure that we make a positive contribution to our local community with an impact that is meaningful, considerable and lasting.
There are several things that we do or are developing that provide evidence of our drive to achieve these goals. In recent times, alongside new leadership, we have introduced a new school uniform, a comprehensive change to the school day and the development of a coaching structure for both staff and students that helps to build and maintain a happy, enriched and thriving school community.
We collaborate and plan so that our students are exposed to a broad and rich curriculum which inspires and challenges them, supportively, to gain powerful knowledge that helps them to understand the world in which they live.
Our school day has allowed us to provide a comprehensive offer of enrichment and personal development as part of our E&A curriculum. All students have access to a wide range of activities designed, at Key Stage 3 to ‘Engage and Aspire’, whilst at Key Stage 4 the focus is to ‘Endeavour and Achieve’. We have a rich variety of activities beyond the classroom and we work to foster a culture which challenges and supports students to fully invest themselves in many aspects of modern society, supporting them in becoming well rounded individuals.
Collectively, our offer helps to ensure that all students are better able to develop the necessary skills, knowledge and understanding, including beyond those of the classroom, which will best prepare them for the next stages in their life, with increasing confidence and courage.
So, whilst we aspire to achieve academic excellence, equally important is a strong emphasis on the importance of good manners, oracy, excellent behaviour, hard work, respect and kindness for each other.
Our vision is to become a centre of excellence at the heart of this community. Whether a current or prospective parent/carer, employee or visitor, I welcome you to be part of our journey as a member of the Parkside School community.
