Religious Studies asks and provokes challenging questions about meaning and purpose of life, questions about God, ultimate reality, issues of right and wrong and what it means to be human.
Students will learn about religion by gaining knowledge of religious beliefs and practices and other worldviews. Students will gain an understanding of the diversity between and within religions, learn about the influence these beliefs have on individuals and communities and why these beliefs and practices are important.
Students will also learn from religion from a local, national and global view where they will explore the validity of their own and others beliefs so that they can develop respect and tolerance.

What are we studying?
See curriculum plan above.
How are we assessed?
Assessment in Religious Studies allows students and their parents/carers to monitor progress and to ensure that students are building skills through the curriculum. Every 2-3 weeks there will be a written piece of work that will be marked with strengths and targets. Students will then respond to these in P4P. Every unit there will a written assessment that will assess the core areas of knowledge, understanding and evaluation.
