Tech for Good - Women in STEM
Some of our year 9 students participated in the Tech for Good workshop at Victoria Hall, Saltaire run by Shipley College.
They met each of the extremely inspiring guest speakers during a speed networking session and then listened to them answering student questions.
The students learnt about careers using Physics, how a degree in music can be extremely popular with recruiters within Tech and how completing jigsaw puzzles can be a good sign that you have the right skills to enter this exciting sector!
They were also advised to:
- Not be afraid to fail
- Don't just think about education - take up all experiences offered to you
- Dream big
- Apply for it! Don't assume you won't get it because you don't tick all the boxes.
