Over the last couple of weeks, Career Ready and Film Studies students have visited the BBC studios, Look North in Leeds. They spoke with various employees, learnt about their job roles, the pathways into the sector and gained an understanding of exactly what happens behind the scenes in this exciting industry. They met Paul the weatherman and Amy Garcia as well as speaking with both the producers and director of the programme. They watched Amy prepare for the show, listened to how she receives instructions whilst live on air by wearing the team headphones and then sat in the gallery to watch the show go live. It was an extremely stressful and fast paced environment, especially as the live feed had issues and had to be repaired within 2 mins.
