Over the past few months a group of 16 year 9 students have undertaken the Language Leaders Award as part of the MFL enrichment programme.
The Language Leaders Award aims to teach young people how to lead others through language activities by working on their communication, organisation and motivation skills. The students have worked in small groups of 2 or 3 to plan, prepare and deliver a 15 minute French or Spanish lesson aimed at year 6 students which they ran as a carousel.
The topics they taught included numbers, weather, food, clothes, items in a pencil case and holidays.
The students really were a credit to the school and have worked so hard, at lunch and after school, to perfect their lessons and create their own resources.
Both schools that we visited, Cullingworth Primary School and Long Lee, said how impressed they were with what our students had produced and the year 6 students really enjoyed their lessons and are looking forward to hosting our leaders again next year!
