With the first Mathematics GCSE paper completed, the focus now turns to Paper 2, the calculator paper. Each student will today receive a list of 'likely' topics (attached) which may feature on the second paper, along with a list of all of the support sessions that the Maths faculty are offering over the next two weeks (also attached).
Predicted papers will also be available for all students to use to practice the essential skills that we think are highly likely to be on Paper 2 - please find one of these attached. There are many more of these available on the Mathsgenie website at www.mathsgenie.co.uk/resources.html along with solutions for each paper to check answers and help correct any mistakes that may have been made.
Please also find attached the final set of examination preparation questions with Mark schemes and examiners tips. Questions 1-8, 11 & 12 are suitable for all students, whilst questions 9,10,13-18 are for students studying for the Higher paper only.
Paper 2 is the calculator paper, we would be grateful if you could please ensure that your child brings their calculator to school with them on the day of the examination - Thursday 9th June, 2016.
On behalf of myself and the Maths Team at Parkside, we would to take this opportunity to thank you for your continued support over the last few weeks in helping to prepare your child for their examinations. We wish all of our pupils every success with their final Mathematics paper and look forward to celebrating their results in the summer. If we can be of any further assistance, please do not hesitate to contact us.
