| Design Technology - Product Design Textiles |
| Course Description |
The distinguishing feature of Product Design is it’s practical nature. Students are offered the opportunity to gain a positive experience from working with a wide variety of Textile Materials. The practical problem solving processes encourage independent learning, creativity and innovation.
AS/A2 level students have the opportunity of applying their knowledge, understanding and skills to design and make products to suitable specifications.
Design work will require thinking, creating, inventing, predicting, experimenting, decision making, constant evaluation and modification.
Making activities may take many forms, ranging from early experiments, through experimental mock-ups, prototypes, scale models and trials to a final marketable product.
The course provides an excellent foundation for further study in Design and Textiles. |
