- Andy Bray who left school last year is organising a live elephant race to raise funds for the Haworth Hawks Table Tennis Club on 21st June. Anyone interested in buying tickets should see Mrs J Haddani
- The GCSE music exam takes place this morning during Period 1 and will affect 20 students.

- The students on the Boreatton Park trip arrived safely yesterday
- There is a GCSE music exam tomorrow morning for half an hour commencing at 9:00 am
- The MFL speaking exams take place over the next 3 days. These exams take place in the library today, so no students should be sent to study in the library today

- The public performances of the Sixth Form play will take place on Thursday and Friday. Tickets are available from Mrs L Stentiford
- Two athletics events will take place on 13th and 15th May involving a large number of students from Years 7 to 10. They will be out of lessons from Period 3 onwards.
- Mr J Butler is taking 12 Year 7 pupils who are on the Student Council to Nell Bank tomorrow.

- Year 12 drama students have an exam tomorrow and will be off timetable today to prepare.
- AS photography exam takes place during period 3 today and period 1 on Thursday.
- Year 11 will start their study leave on Thursday May 15. This will be a shortened day and they will finish at approximately 11:00am. The last full teaching day for Year 11 will be Wednesday May 14.
- Years 11 and 13 will have their leaver’s photographs taken by the Keighley News on Wednesday May 14 period 1 in the Theatre.
- Year 13 study leave starts on Friday May 23rd.
- Year 12 start study leave on Friday May 9th. On Friday June 16, Year 12 have an induction session in the morning. They will return to school full time on Monday June 16 following work experience.
- Year 9 SATs start on Tuesday May 6th and finish on Friday May 9th.
- The Year 13 history students are going to a conference tomorrow for the whole day.
- There is an A level PE conference tomorrow for the whole day.
- 45 Year 7 and 8 students will be taking part in the Junior Maths Challenge on Thursday period 2.
- Mrs H Mayho asked Year 10 and 11 tutors to remind the netballers that the Keighley News will be coming this break time to take their photographs.

- Mrs L Stentiford informed staff that next week is the Sixth Form drama production and because of this, Year 13 drama students will be off timetable on Monday and Year 12 on Tuesday. The performance is open to the public on Thursday and Friday next week and tickets are on sale. The Year 11 drama work has now been completed, so any member of staff who would like to see any of Mr M Fleetwood’s or Lin’s students when they are scheduled to do drama should feel free to contact them.
- Mrs H Mayho asked Key Stage 3 tutors to remind students that there will be athletics from 3:00 – 4:00pm today

- The Anti Bullying Champions are preparing for their assemblies this week and will not be in registration today
- The Drama GCSE takes place today and Year 10 drama students will be the audience. Any staff who are free should ensure that the area surrounding the Theatre is kept quiet during lesson changeovers this morning.
- The A level German speaking exam takes place tomorrow from periods 1 to 3. This will only affect a very few students and will take place in the Conference Room.
- Year 11 music exams take place for Year 11 on Friday and those students affected will be out of lessons for about half an hour.
- The Post 16 parents’ evening will take place in the LRC and the Post 16 study area. Any-one requiring further information should see Michele Hirst.
- Mrs S Coe and MR M Cox are taking the 6 students with disabilities away on a 2 day trip commencing 1st June. They need to raise funds and will be selling cakes and biscuits in the old foyer on Friday break time. They will also be running a second hand book stall and any contributions would be gratefully received.

- It is the Year 12 and 13 parents’ evening tomorrow to discuss students causing concern only. Some students may approach teaching staff today for appointments because Mrs J Haddani has picked up some concerns from reports and sent letters home. The parents’ evening will run from 5:30 – 7:30 pm
- Prior warning was given of the MFL speaking exams, which will take place on 30th April and1st, 7th and 8th May.

- Mr M Hankinson is taking a group of Year 12 sociology students out to a revision session tomorrow. Year 13 will attend in the afternoon
- The under 16 netball team won the Bradford Schools Championship yesterday

- Attendance figure printouts will be in registration wallets this morning and students should be made aware of their current percentage attendance figure
- Mrs L Stentiford reminded staff that Year 11 drama students will be off timetable next Monday and Tuesday due to he drama exam. 10 addititional students will be watching the performancepn Tuesday

- Some representatives from the Royal Navy will be in school from lunchtime onwards today. Staff should already have been asked to sign permission slips by the students who wish to attend.
- Mr D McGrellis reminded staff that some year 10 and 11 maths students will be off timetable tomorrow and Thursday. A group of students will be going to Bradford College tomorrow and there is a Year 11 maths revision session on Thursday in the main hall.
- Year 8 managed to raise £320 for Sports Relief last month.

- Two English consultants will be in school today working with some Year 9 level 5/6 students. The students should all be aware of this and a list has been placed on the notice board. These lessons will take place in the library during English and technology lessons periods 1 - 4. Year 9 form tutors were asked to remind students about this
- Representatives from the Royal Navy will be in school tomorrow and all students who intend to listen to this talk should have asked their teachers today if they may be excused from lessons tomorrow afternoon
- A numeracy consultant will be in school on Thursday working with Year 11 pupils periods 1 to 4. A list of students affected will be placed on the notice board.
- 30 Year 11 PE students will be on a trip to Salford University tomorrow. They will register first and then they will be out for the whole day.
- Wednesday period 5 the Under 15 netball team will need to leave lessons a few minutes early to play in the Bradford Schools final.

- Congratulations should be expressed to Chloe Hurd who has been entered for a high level diving competition next year
- Mrs A Lee expressed his thanks to all the staff who arranged Easter revision sessions. They were well attended and went extremely well
- The GCSE dance moderation takes place today and students affected will be out of lessons from periods
1 to 4

- The Head expressed his thanks to Miss L Smith for all her hard work in preparation for the Music for Youth Festival. The school has received certificates for participation, but the Head also received a phone call from a Director of Education Bradford thanking the school for the positive way in which we participated in the schools prom
- Mrs L Stentiford informed staff that the GCSE drama exam takes place on 22nd April and the students involved will be off timetable on 21st April for dress rehearsals. The A level drama exams takes place on 30 April and it would be helpful if members of staff would not book the theatre during these weeks so that all the props can be left in place.

- There is a Year 10 history trip to Saltaire at Period 3 today. Students should be sent to the canteen at
10:45 am and they will return to school at about 2:30 pm.
- Some Post 16 students will be selling raffle tickets for Easter baskets today during lesson time. This is to raise funds for the PTA.
- There is a post 16 versus staff football match at lunchtime today to raise funds for Sports Relief
- The Year 13 netball team reached the finals of the Bradford Schools championship and played brilliantly. Unfortunately, they lost the final but did received a runners up trophy. The Year 12 netball team finished in fourth place.

- Tomorrow the Samba band and the break dancing group will be going to St George’s Hall for a rehearsal for the Bradford School’s Prom. They will need to be in the Music Department by 8:45 am. Laurie Smith will put a list of students on the staff notice board
- 9 Year 7 students went to an inter-school history competition yesterday and Hannah Richardson won the first prize. The group was extremely well behaved and Holly Spence gave a wonderful presentation

- Matthew Woodthorpe in 13LW is going to Tanzania this year to do some conservation work. The trip will cost £3,500 and he has already raised £400 towards this. Mike has promised that the school will hold some event to raise money for his trip and any suggestions would be welcomed.
- There will be a football match between members of staff and the post 16 students on Wednesday lunchtime to raise money for Sports Relief
- The Year 9 mock SATs went very well last week and the invigilators were very impressed with the behaviour of the students
- Thanks were expressed to all staff who helped with the Sports Relief event on Friday, which went very smoothly
- The Saltaire trip for Year 10 will take place tomorrow and Wednesday. 70 students will go tomorrow and 50 on Wednesday

- Sports Relief events will take place periods 3 and 4 tomorrow and a cover list is already up on the noticeboard. Any problems should be highlighted to Carole or Mike as soon as possible

- Summer uniform should be worn by students following the Easter holidays. Details will be placed in the newsletter going out to parents before the end of term
- Mr P Abbott will be taking 10 Year 8 student to Bradford University next Tuesday
- Mr M Cox gave advanced warning that 4 Year 11 and 4 Year 12 students will be out of lessons on Friday at a Sports Relief event. Names will be placed on the notice board

- Year 8 will be walking for Sport Relief on Friday periods 3 and 4 and there will be a football match for Sport Relief between Post 16 students and members of staff on the last Wednesday of the term.
- The boys Samba band and the break dancers will be performing at St Georges Hall on Wednesday
19th March
- Mr M Hankinson is taking 15 Year 13 students to the County Court tomorrow
- The dance workshops went extremely well last week with Wesley Brown performing particularly well
- There is an Under 14 netball match tonight but the students do not need to leave lessons early. The Under 16 netball team won their league last week

- The under 12 netball team beat Oakbank yesterday and will be in the league play-offs
- Mr P Buckley is looking for volunteers to help with Sport Relief next Friday periods 3 and 4

- The Year 13 performance of “Falling Without Landing” takes place this evening in the Theatre. It starts at 6:30 pm, not 6:00 pm as stated on the invitations

- The Under 13 netball team beat South Craven 29 – 4 last week
- There is a Year 9 netball match at Ilkley today and the students will need to leave lessons at 2:40 pm. They will already be in their PE kit. The Year 7 netball team also have a match tonight, but do not need to leave lessons early
- On Friday Mrs A Dudgeon and Mrs M Farnell took 30 Year 11 students on an Aim Higher English trip. The students were well behaved and very motivated. It was a very successful day
