- There is a Year 11 Leaver's assembly tomorrow during Period 4 in the Theatre. Any staff who are free are welcome to attend
- Mr Hankinson is taking 45 Year 9 students out on a trip next Thursday on an Army Careers Day
- Ms Lumbers has received a letter following the visit to Aerial Extreme last week. It is extremely complimentary regarding the behaviour of our students
- Mr Johnson and Mr Butler are taking 12 Year 7 students and 12 Year 10 students out to Nell Bank tomorrow

- On Friday there is a leaver's assembly for Year 11. A buffet will be provided from 11:30 - 11:55 am followed by a short assembly

- Tomorrow night there is a talk in the Theatre about going to university by a visitor from Lancaster University, this starts at 7:00 pm

- Our students did really well in the English Schools Cup on Monday and we are waiting to hear if we have progressed to the next round. Fifteen students also performed well in the Bradford Schools Cup
- Mrs H Mayho is taking a group of students to the Paralympics on Friday and in order to raise funds they are holding a bun sale at break time
- A group of 16 Year 10 boys will be out of school this afternoon at Valley Parade for the City finals. It is the first time that Parkside have got this far in the competition

- Would Year 11 tutors inform students that their Post 16 subject choices need to be given to Mrs M Hirst today

- The Pathways students are having a good time and will be traveling back today
- The Under 16 netball team won their match this week against Bradford Grammar 19-12
- The A Level drama production takes place tonight at 7:30 pm. Members of staff are welcome

- The public performance of the Sixth Form play will take place on Thursday and Friday. Tickets are available from Mrs L Stentiford

- Years 11 and 13 will have their leaver's photographs taken by the Keighley News on Wednesday May 14 period 1 in the Theatre
- Year 12 start study leave on Friday May 9th. On Friday June 16, Year 12 have an induction session in the morning in the Theatre
- 45 Year 7 and 8 students will be taking part in the Junior Maths Challenge on Thursday period 2

- "Mind The Gap" Theatre Company will be working with Year 10 and 11 pathway students during Period 2 today
- On Tuesday 21st April there will be a Shakespeare workshop for Year 9 students starting at 9:00 am

- There is a trip to Saltaire today involving 40 students
- Tom Hall and Luke Fox have been taking part in the dance project and will be performing on Friday and Saturday night at Leeds University

- On Wednesday 5 students will be going on an Army careers trip to Harrogate College
- On Wednesday Periods 3 and 4 there will be a Year 11 English Literature mock exam in the Main Hall

- On Wednesday 18th March a group of 30 Year 11 students will be out of school on a "Making the A Grade" course with AQA examiners
- The Year 10 GCSE history students, (120 in total) will be going on the annual Soltaire trip on 23rd or 30th March from period 3 onwards
- The 8 Year 11 students won the Science Quiz yesterday and are now through to the final on March 30th

- Approximately 32 Year 7 students will be off timetable all day on Thursday 12 march doing a robots project with Greg Foster.
- A group of Year 13 students will be working on their A2 exam piece with Mr M Fleetwood on Tuesday 10 and Thursday 12 March

- On Tuesday 21st April during periods 1 and 2 students will be taking part in a Monacto Macbeth workshop.

- On the morning of Monday 9th March there will be an exhibition of some of the work that has been produced as part of the science contribution to the whole school theme "The changing face of religious and cultural beliefs". Staff may wish to drop in and take a look

- There will be a dress rehearsal for the Wizard of Oz this morning until 12:00 noon. Students form Cullingworth Primary School will be visiting our school to watch the show. Students taking part in the show should register first then go to the theatre. Names of the students participating have been placed on the staff room notice board. The show starts at 7:00 pm tonight and tickets are available form Phil Logan at break time.

- Class 8a/En3 will be off timetable today for the whole day. They are working on The Dark Theatre Project with Greg Foster and Ms S Hassell

- The Lancaster University trip has been re-arranged for 24th February
- Mrs L Laoufir asked staff to remind students who are taking part in the Maths Challenge this morning to be in the Main Hall at 8.40 am

- Philippa Grace is holding a series of workshops with key stage 3 students. Year 7 will be held during Period 2, Year 8 during Period 3 and Year 9 during Period 4
- The Year 10 students will be having a talk on Health and Safety Awareness next Tuesday during Periods 2 and 3 in preparation for their work experience visits.
- Mrs S Anderson gave advanced warning of some enterprise days which will take place on March 16,17,18 and 19, involving years 7,8,9 and 10 respectively. Many activities and outside speakers and businesses will be participating, but these activities will be arranged in class room because the Main Hall will be unavailable
- The Year 7 netball team beat Oakbank School 28-6

- On February 11 the Army will be coming to speak about careers with Year 11. There will therefore be a Year 11 assembly that morning
- The Year 10 netball team beat Beckfoot 28-3
- Mr M Cox warned staff that 5 boys and 5 girls would be out of lessons all day for a cycling coaching course on Thursday

- The second "tough issues" talk takes place this evening for parents of Year 7 and 8 students
- Mr K Fanshawe has placed application forms in Year 10 registration wallets for taster sessions at Keighley College on 28th January. Anyone requiring further forms should see Mr Fanshawe
- Mr J Butler is dealing with Year 7 cycling proficiency tests on Friday and any queries should be referred to him

- Mr M Cox informed staff that 10 year 7 students can take their cycling proficiency levels 1 and 2 on Friday. Any students interested should see Jonnie Butler and places will be allocated on a first come, first serve basis. Students must provide their own bikes and helmets

- Mr M Hankinson reminded colleagues of the Careers Evening tomorrow and forewarned that year 12 students will be attending a conference at Lancaster University on Tuesday 03 February
- Mr M Cox reported on last night's successful cross country event, with teams either winning or coming within the top 4

- Taster sessions for year 11 students interested in joining the sixth form will held on Friday
- Ms L Stentiford asked if any one had a cylinder vacuum cleaner at home which could be used as a prop for the 'Wizard of Oz'

- Arrangements are being made for Tempest photographers to come into school on Monday 9 February to take school photographs

- On Friday Period 5 there will be a full school assembly. Mr M Smith has written to all members of staff who have recently had children and it is hoped that they will join us in the school to say good-bye to Miss L Smith and Mr A Subris
- Arrangements for Christmas dinner tomorrow: Year 7 will come to the canteen at 12:05 pm, Year 8 at 12:35 pm, and Years 9,10 and 11 at the normal time. Post 16 students are helping to serve, so it is hoped that Period 5 will start at the normal time
