Asdan Awards

What will I study at Key stage 4?

The ASDAN Bronze/Silver Award is a certificate that you achieve by carrying out a wide range of activities called challenges. You will discover more about important life issues and have the opportunity to get involved in activities that were, perhaps, never available to you before.

What assessments will I do?

You will be able to choose challenges from modules such as: The Community, Sport and Leisure, Home Management, The Environment, Information Handling, Health and Survival, World of Work, Technology, Wider World, Expressive Arts and Beliefs and Values. YOU will be deciding and planning how you will carry out each challenge.
As you progress you will keep a file of all the evidence you gather. The evidence can take many forms: writing, tapes, photos, video, e-mails, displays etc.

What are the Key Skills?

The ASDAN programme will help you to develop a range of important skills known as Key Skills. These are: Improving your own learning and performance, working with others, problem solving, communication, application of number and information technology. You will find Key Skills valuable for your future, as they will help you make the most of education, employment and training opportunities

When do I get the Award?

Your file of work will be checked by a teacher from another school. Once it has been passed you will receive your Award.

Why should I do Asdan?

The Award is highly valued by colleges and employers. It gives you the chance to show all your personal qualities rather than just academic achievements.
